Tokyo, Japan's capital city is probably the most popular attraction for foreign tourists. The city of Tokyo has enlarged to such an extent, it as obsorbed many of the surrounding area, to create the world's largest urban area in terms of population. Boasting some 30 million people. This urban area has grown so big due to the simple fact that Japan is a prodominantly mountanous country with very few flat plains. Tokyo and the Kanto region being ideal flat ground for building, has created this mega-metropolis.
The heart of Tokyo shopping, the Ginza with its bountiful neon lights and signs and is what most foreigners associate with Tokyo, before visiting.
